800 South Sewer Line

Project Overview

Payson needed to replace and upsize a deteriorated sewer line near a new high school. VanCon installed 1,553 feet of 8-inch and 455 feet of 12-inch PVC sewer line, abandoned an existing sewer line, and installed five 60-inch diameter manholes. The streets contained complex existing utilities requiring extensive potholing. A concrete road was discovered buried in the main road during excavation. An unmarked high pressure gas line was identified due to a previous VanCon project in the area and required hand shoveling around it once it was exposed. A UDOT project was concurrent with the project creating scheduling challenges which VanCon mitigated by using the same asphalt company to reduce traffic interference by asphalting both areas at once. Groundwater required pumping throughout the project.

SVSD 11400 South Sewer Outfall Phase II

Salt Lake County · Salt Lake · 2012

VanCon installed a sewer outfall line from 11400 South to 11800 South. The project required 4,550 linear feet of 42-inch PVC sewer main at 10 to 20 feet deep, CCTV inspection, traffic control on UDOT roadway, and 84-inch manholes. A 60-inch jack and bore was required under Midas Creek. VanCon removed existing 10-inch PVC sewer main and reconnected 48-inch sewer laterals along the alignment. Bypass pumping was greater than 2,500 GPM. A large diversion structure was constructed at the intersection of 11800 South and 2700 West with stainless steel sluice gates.
