Project Overview
VanCon built a CMU pump house and installed a 150 HP submersible pump and motor, a 15-inch RCP storm drain, manholes, 10-inch ductile iron pressure piping, a backup generator, and site improvements. Work was constructed next to a public pool and park requiring coordination to keep the public safe and to maintain positive public relations.

VanCon demolished an existing deteriorated well house, salvaged parts, built a new well house, and installed a 700 HP vertical turbine pump, flow meter, and chlorine gas injection. Construction involved high groundwater, digging into the side of an unstable hilltop, and a large volume of pedestrians. Due to design issues, VanCon became a design partner with the city, redesigning the retaining wall in a bunker-style vault to deal with the high groundwater and building dewatering wells and trenches.

Salt Lake City 4th Avenue Well

VanCon rehabilitated an existing well, built a brick well house, installed a 400 HP vertical turbine pump, built a hypochlorite room with a tablet chlorination system, made connections to the existing storm drain, and installed 16-inch welded steel and 16-inch ductile iron pipe.

Oquirrh Mountain Connor Well Project

VanCon built a reinforced concrete drinking well house and installed a 125 HP submersible pump and motor with a well head vault, yard piping, a 200 kW diesel generator, and a chlorination system, then made connections with ductile iron pipe. The project concluded with Xypex concrete waterproofing to the roof slab and landscaping.
