SLC East West Conveyance Line

Salt Lake City · Salt Lake County · 2022

To improve culinary water supply to the west side of Salt Lake City, VanCon installed a cast-in-place flow control valve vault and 3,300 feet of 48-inch welded steel pipe with a bore under the Jordan and Salt Lake Canal. VanCon also removed 350 feet of 8-inch sewer line, installed 58 feet of replacement sewer line, and replaced 100 feet of 4-inch waterline with a new 8-inch pipe. The pipeline also crossed a city golf course requiring coordination including installing the vault during the off season and high attention to detail in landscaping restoration. Bypass pumping was required.

Woodland Hills Waterline Replacement

Woodland Hills · Utah County · 2021

VanCon helped design and then installed 21,077 feet of 8-inch PVC culinary waterline with valves and hydrants to replace a leaking waterline for the City of Woodland Hills. The waterlines were on steep slopes in a high fire hazard community with three emergency exits and narrow roads, and the schedule included winter weather. VanCon used new equipment to safely handle the slopes, kept a tight narrow work limit, and limited actively excavated areas to immediate construction to optimize access. During the CM/GC design stage of Phase 1, VanCon worked with the city budget to add an additional street to the project scope. The City later added two more streets with additional funding. Phase 1 was completed with Davis-Bacon wages.
